Given that he does not have offers from in-state Georgia, Clemson, Ohio St., or Alabama, is he a notch below what ND ("Tight End U") should expect for a TE?

I have no idea as to Jack's ability/potential, just noticed the lack of offers from those four elite recruiting schools

I think he is a good TE prospect but not elite. The upside is clear though - he has great size (6’4, 230lb 16-year old) and decent athleticism - he competed in Georgia’s highest class (I believe 7A is the highest) as a sophomore. But he’s not on the same level as Kmet, Alize Mack, Brock Wright (consensus Top 100 player).

FWIW, Georgia and Ohio State have expressed interest but just haven’t offered. Maybe those offers come in the future - who knows.

Interesting that Georgia has offered 7 other TEs for 2022 including 3 from the state of Georgia.

Ohio St has offered 4 other TEs for 2022 including 2 from the state of Georgia.

Hopefully, ND's coaching staff is better at evaluating talent than those two schools and BK has found an undervalued sleeper in Nickel.

Hope this doesn't come across as sour grapes b/c I hold no grudges and wish this kid the best, buuuuuut...  ...I have no idea why you wouldn't jump at the chance to play TE at ND. Of all the positions during the Kelly era, this one seems like the most sure-fire path to the next level. Seems like every starter has made that leap.

I like this development if it opens up space for the legacy Rairdon (who probably has more upside) while we chase Staes.  If I were McNulty, I'd even consider arm wrestling Elston for using Agu at TE.

Because we want Staes and Raridon at tight end
