Not surprised. Thatís what happens when you get smacked by a team who also got smacked by not only one team but two. That loss will haunt us until we beat somebody good. Which Iím completely happy with. Raises the bar finally.

I don't think the loss matters as much as the fact that ND didn't beat anybody good this year. Navy is their best win.

Georgia got blown out by LSU and lost to S. Carolina, but they beat ND, Florida, Auburn and Baylor.

I guess that is a long way of agreeing with you, but thinking who you beat is more important than who or how you lose.

But wait I thought there was no way the gophers would jump ND and for sure the badgers would be behind ND.

Not shocked by this at all even if I do not agree with it. ND can not afford to have anymore blowout loses to be taken seriously.

I understand and agree with your assessment. However, I know the committee is supposed to look at each year differently, but I canít blame them if they want to put us in the ďprove itĒ category. Itís not like we have a top 10 win in 5 years. At least I donít think we do. And when we do play those top 5 teams, we get smoked. But, youíre probably right, a good win trumps a bad loss to a good team...

Fair enough, we beat no one of real value and got hammered by Michigan. Lowest P-5 team with 2 losses. Respect needs to be earned against Georgia types, not ISU types.

Use it as motivation for next year I guess. Would've been nice to slip into the top 10.

Motivation...that's not something we've seen or used effectively in forever.

Melting down? Youíve been around long enough to know Tommy Rees Throwing a pick vs Tulsa is a meltdown. VanGorder vs ASU was a meltdown. Going for two vs Northwestern was a meltdown.

This is a slight increase in temperature.

Just to get it out of the way, ND has been ranked in the top 12 for at least 1 year consecutively per my last review.

I guess it shows the degree to which I donít care about our final ranking. Weíre 12...whatever. Itís not #1...

Melting down? Not exactly, discussing the teams final ranking on a discussion board yes. Is that not ok?

I agree but it seems all the voters care about now is the quality of wins. Penn State and Auburn just happen to be more impressive wins than any we have.
