Looks like Buchner got his invite to the Rivals Five-Star Challenge as well. He missed out on QB MVP to USC commit Jake Garcia, but it sounds like it was a close call.

First decommitment since Cade McNamara (QB) in the 2019 class who decommitted on March 3, 2018.

Id say Fisher, Millium and Rucci are the 3 best prsopects we were in on with us getting Fisher so far. Because they are tackles. Spindler is strictly a guard and not as physically big as those 3.

This is a big loss

Not at all surprised he stayed home in West Virginia.

ND was never the favorite for him from my understanding. Cant really say we "lost" this one.

This spring will be like last. There will be a lot of visitors and big names on campus over the next month. Also, evaluations will start to reveal some new names. Right now ND is in great shape, they need to close. Adding Chris Watt and Kerry Cooks to the staff will be huge for these upcoming visits. I will post visits here as they are about to occur. Cooks beat ND for several players when at Oklahoma. Watt has lived the life of a high level recruit, multi-year starter, day 2 NFL draft pick, played in the NFL, and seen the benefits of ND due to injury. I really like the coaching staff right now to pull in a big time class. Buchner and Fisher have been awesome too.

Totally agree - the coaching additions will hopefully help us greatly this cycle. Mickens has been working his tail off and I hope he lands several of his top guys. McNulty also seems to be really well liked by the TE recruits too.

FWIW, ND is now offering virtual classes until April 13 and students are encouraged not to turn to campus after spring break due to coronavirus. This will certainly effect recruiting, hopefully to minimal capacity in the long run. Given this info though, the spring game may be canceled. ND will need to target a late spring/early summer elite recruiting day to make up for this, at least that is my best guess right now.

From my understanding they still plan on having the recruiting weekend.

I think many schools are going to go similar route, just saw U of Iowa announcing similar action as ND.

OSU and Michigan have canceled everything for the entire month. OSU coaches aren't traveling to recruit or anything. I'd bet ND follows suit. It will be interesting to see if they still allow kids to travel if they are driving on the March 20 weekend.
