Yes, but in certain cases the process started sooner. Wouldn’t be surprised if either guy was at junior day yesterday. I wouldn’t be worried about it...yet. I think we will hear some news this week.

Behind the scenes these guys are likely already in contact with recruits, and the assistants in their place right now are highly respected and great with recruits.

David abiara 3* out of Texas is about to commit? On the edge of being a 4*, I’ll take him in a heart beat. Maybe our next Kapron Lewis Moore.

Absolutely. He's picked up some big offers recently: Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M. Would say he will likely get a ratings bump in about 2-3 weeks when the 2021 recruiting rankings are updated.

We shall see, definitely some buzz around this. Would be a great pick up this early. A very nice prospect identified very early by ND. Could have the opportunity to rise a fair bit in the rankings if he attends camps and whatnot.

This is big. Abiara is a top 150 caliber player. Maybe even more. He was just starting to blow up.

This is a perfect example of why fans need to be patient with the process. ND offered him like 2 weeks ago, and before that many of us had never heard of him - and now Friday is a likely commitment. Really nice get (hopefully).

Nice ND is on the list but personally I would not call this a "Big announcement" I mean my wife watches the Bachelor and while I know he has about 7 girls left realistically only one or two have a shot.

These are the battles ND needs to start winning. A kid with high academic interest and excellent offers. If they win 2 more of these per year plus a couple other battles with just solid academic kids then ND will compete big time.

Yep. Looks like his parents told him he needs to take some more time which I can respect. Notre Dame/OU battle from all indications.

LSU and Bama offering him made him change his timetable imo.

Any idea if BK has established any type of relationship with him or is Kelly leaving that type of stuff to his assistants?

Not saying that I wouldn't be surprised if he chooses Michigan, but I think ND is in a really good spot. His dad sounds like a huge ND fan as well - him being a former player really helps ND here because he can get in his son's ear about the value of the ND degree. He also seems to be close with a few commits, including Blake Fisher. Huge opportunity to take the lead after his March visit.

Top 11, Top 9... why not just say I do not have any clue where I am going yet? Some of these kids really play up the recruiting process. With that said I realize they are HS kids and immature so it is to be expected.

In general a sales job is hard enough. I could not imagine being these coaches and all of your clients are 17 years old. I know I could not do it.

I think the similarity lies in the fact that he's a very highly graded recruit (one of our top priorities) from a Detroit suburb in UM's backyard, we're going all in on him, competing directly against Harbaugh and to-date he's expressed mutual interest. Where there may be a difference is I believe his family may not be as all in on M like McGregor's was. Despite our efforts there, it sounds like Braiden was born with the proverbial maize and blue football in his hands.

I mean some of these kids have 30+ offers. Narrowing it down to 10ish is a substantial narrowing.

Does anyone know where Spindler's parents grew up? His dad played for the Lions which is probably why they are in Michigan but no idea as to roots. His dad played at Pitt when Pitt was good I believe.

Yes he played for Pitt but more important, repped a Mullet of classic proportions! Clarkston is 30 minutes north of me and the local papers are all over him...his Dad should know enough to not fall for the Harbaugh hype but our area is dominated by UofM, not Sparty so sure locals are in his ear as well.
AA is an hour+ drive but ND is 3 hours so not that big of a difference in allowing Mom and Dad getting to see him play.

I agree, I usually dont care about the top until it is a top 3. Top 11 and top 9s are uninteresting. Not saying they shouldnt do it, because like Synoptico stated, they have 30+offers; but still doesnt change the fact that they are uninteresting with so many schools still in the picture. We all know it always comes down to 2-3 schools.

Should add, i also dont find it newsworthy. It is probably more for the coaches of schools not listed to tell them publically to stop
