Default Transfer Portal

First off I would just like to know why Gilman had to sit a year but Martell and Fields got to play immediately? It doesn’t seem like there’s any consistency to this and lots of bias.

https://247sports.com/Season/2020-Fo...ransferPortal/

Here are the players in the transfer portal for the 2020 season so far. Based off numbers in our 2020 recruiting class, I imagine we have room for a few transfers.

Could any people with knowledge of recruits here sift through this list and mention the guys we offered in high school? And also who you think we’d target or have a chance at? Thanks.

What are the mechanics of the process? Are the schools allowed to recruit? Do they have to wait to be contacted by the prospective player?

Reason it is/was unfair...some families have money for attorneys and others sometimes imply injustices they "experienced". I don't think the portal was fully fleshed out when Gilman transferred 3 years ago.

Same reason Chase Young sat two games only for a "loan", an impermisable benefit, from a friend, but ND had to forfeit 18 wins when they had players who were deemed ineligible later due to academic fraud, or an impermisable benefit from fellow students. Makes no senses.

Fields was a #1 recruit going to one of the top programs in the country. NCAA wants him to play for OSU. Without him OSU would probably have at least one loss and the Big ten might not have a spot in the playoffs. The NCAA is a joke and only cares about the bottom line.

Man, don’t get me punching the wall. This transfer thing almost always seems to go against ND.
Did Cody Riggs get in right away? GILMAN DIDNT. Will Pryor? Amir Carlisle? Who am I missing. I know some guys that left ND played right away.

This topic really pisses me off.
The Chase Young thing stinks to high heaven. They only find out or make a ruling when tOSU has its two easiest games on their schedule. Then miraculously the NCAA rules in two weeks(the same time Young makes a statement saying he hopes it two weeks, yet, it took a whole Season to make a judgement on ND? Furious.

gene smith has ridiculous influence in NCAA. He's avoided two big scandals.

The forfeited games should have been appealed by our esteemed president Father Jenkins, but he did not! Shame on him!

I think we want a senior grad corner. Not one that has to sit a year

Exactly. I mean wouldn’t young have been ineligible in ever game he played in this year? Sans the games he was suspended for

Apparently 11 Stanford players just entered the portal and rumours are Shaw might be leaving. I really hope we target some transfers this year as there are more players entering than ever before it seems.

The biggest name is Hamilton, who is an OL. There are several DL that would help ND. If Shaw is leaving, he must be getting an NFL job, no way Stanford fires him, and they would be stupid to do so. Shaw is a damn good coach.

Swann is apparently from Indiana. I’m not sure ND offered any of them but I would target the linemen and corner.

Grades shouldn't be a roadblock for any of them either.

He’s ok. I’d place him in the category that most people want to label BK, except BK is better. Maybe Shaw is hanging it up...

He's much better than ok. The academic restrictions are tighter than at ND, and they had teams early in his tenure that would've been in the playoff if it had existed. They were the only team that could slow down those Chip Kelly Oregon Offenses.

Also, Shaw is only 47 years old. That's young for a coach, no way he flat out retires.

Speaking of transfer portal, Tarik Black WR from Michigan has entered. I believe ND recruited him very heavily, it would be nice to get a proven WR with the loss of Claypool.

Was best friends with CJ Holmes out of Connecticut. For that reason alone I wouldnt be hopeful.

It never hurts to have the extra depth.

“Early in his tenure” meaning he was living off Harbaugh...
