I actually hope the kid has a good career, minus when he plays ND but it's entirely up to you if you want to fall into the trap of making comparisons after one game vs a mutual opponent. And yes, when your defense is on the field for the majority of the game, the opposing offense tends to open things up a bit. If you watched the game, the 1st half wasn't impressive by either side minus one deep completion by Jurkovec but it opened up in the 2nd half.
I would agree to an extent here. When I eventually started coaching baseball I had my favorites. Iíve tried not too. But it does happen. Some guys do the job and you get blinded by the fact that itís comfortable and you know what you are going to get from the kid. You also hope that maybe youíll get more than expected from him. Maybe Jurk saw this and never felt like he was given a fair shake. Heís out running him in practice. He has the better arm and completing those 20 yard outs that Book canít complete. I donít know. But I wouldnít base it as clearly Jurk got beat out and threw a tantrum and transferred. It does happen that way a lot but sometimes kids just donít feel like they are being given a fair shake. Anyways...just my two cents.

He also ran for 2 TDs. But you decided to leave out that he scored all 3 scores.

Watching Jurkovec vs UNC. He's had moments in the 2 minute but I see what I saw at ND. Good in the 2 minute, where plays become more athletic but not seeing the field all that well overall. With Book's record I can see Kelly's hesitance. He's mostly completing in the short zone like Book does.

Boot legs are his strength.

I see Ian Book and Dayne Crist

UNC got an OPI call to I think.

ND was never gonna be the team to let him throw it 50 times under Rees though.

Good luck to him. But wasn't gonna work at ND

Did you see him roll out, reverse field and try to scramble for a 1st down. He mustíve thought he was Lamar Jackson. I respect Book for what heís done, but Iím not a diehard supporter. Iíd trade him for Sam Howell in a heartbeat. Whatís funny is going back 3 yrs, the two starting QBs in the ND v UNC game were:

Ian Book & Chazz Surrat. Book is still the starting QB at ND and Surrat is an All American LB.

Yeah has that Josh Allen Gunslinger never give up on a play deal like Allen does at Buffalo in the NFL but Allen has quite a bit more athletic ability.

Kelly might of started Phil year 1 when he started Dayne Crist. We ran that QB centered type offense and lost like 5 times.

But guys like that fumble and throw picks. I get he got away with here in PA in high school but he will have to succeed between the 2 minute drives as well.

Default ACC QBs ranked by PFF

Lawrence #1, Jurkovec #7, Book #10

Notre Dame is actually only one of two Power Five programs to generate more 10-plus-yard gains on the ground than through the air in 2020. If the Irish want to give Clemson a run for their money, this will have to change.

If history is any indicator, we would be best off with Clarke for the remainder of this season, before he regresses. If we benched Wimbush for the Ball State debacle, Kelly needs to consider benching Book before we lose a stinker.
